6th Sunday of the Ordinary Time


1. On coming Sunday, 20th February, we will have annual Catechism examination and on Sunday, 27th February, we will be celebrating the Catechism day.


2. On 2nd March, we begin the Lenten season with Ash Wednesday. As usual we will send Lenten envelopes through the gurkars. The amount collected during the Lenten campaign will be sent to CODP for the housing project to the needy.


3. During the Lenten Season we will have our annual retreat from Monday 7th March to Thursday 10th March.  Then, on Friday, 11th March we will celebrate 400th anniversary of the canonization of our patron St Francis Xavier. Thereafter, on Saturday 12th March we will be celebrating our Parish day.  We request your wholehearted support towards these events marking the spiritual renewal of our parish community.


4. We would like to undertake repairs and up gradation of Church sound system. We will also repair the St Francis Xavier Higher Primary School building. We humbly request financial assistance from our parishioners towards these two projects.


5. Needy Catholic families may avail housing facility in our Nazareth Colony.  For details please contact St Vincent de Paul Society.


6. We will be publishing Izaicho Kollo during Easter. We request you to send articles and advertisements before 28th February.


7. The English Choir is in need of new members including musicians.  Whoever wishes to join the English choir may contact Mr Elton D’Souza or the Church office.


8. Free Foot Pulse Therapy Camp will be arranged in S.F.X. Hall from Monday 14th February to Saturday, 6th March from 9.00 am to 5.30 pm.  For details please contact Mr Ashok Pinto, the Vice President of Parish Pastoral Council.


9. Meetings:

a. There will be a meeting of SFO on Wednesday, 16th February at 4.00 pm in Meeting Room-I.


b. There will be a meeting of Senior Citizen Welfare Association on Thursday, 17th February at 5.30 pm in Mini Hall.


c. There will be a meeting of Finance committee on Friday, 18th February at 6.00 pm in Meeting Room-I.


d. There will be a meeting of Parish Pastoral Parishad on Sunday, 20th February at 9.00 am in LCS Auditorium.


10.Sunday Liturgy arrangements for the coming week:

a.Saturday: 5.00 p.m. mass - Nithyadhar Mai ward, Kapikad Lower

b.Sunday : 7.00 a.m. mass - Legion of Mary

c.Sunday : 4.30 p.m. mass - Divine Mercy ward, Nod-Kadri


11.Donations received towards Medical Fund:

a.   N.N., Our Lady of Rosary ward, C.M.Lower- Rs. 10,000/-

12.Previous Sunday’s Collection: Rs. 39,740/-
