Catholic Sabha

Catholic Sabha is a lay association started in Mangalore Diocese on April 29, 1979. It is a registered association and is approved by the Bishop of Mangalore. Initially it was started to oppose the Tyagi Bill that was passed in the parliament. The bill was against the religious freedom in India. Later Catholic Sabha started to work for the economic, social, educational and cultural development of the people in Mangalore Diocese. It also tries to bring about political awareness among Christians. In 1997 it was affiliated to All India Catholic Union and has service, sacrifice and unity as its motto.
